Foil is a thin film coated with the color that will be transferred to the product during the hot stamping process. Foil is available in a rainbow of colours both flat and metallic. Recent years have also seen the addition of many exciting optical effects like sparkles of all types, light diffusions, colour shifts and more.
One of the best things about foil is it's low price. Foil is sold in a standard industry unit of 1-inch wide x 200-feet long. You can buy foil from us for $5.00 per unit, thus the cost of foil calculates as:

On the back of every foil is a heat activated glue called a 'release'. It is the release that adheres the foil pigment to your product. What's important to understand is that different releases work on different substrates ( substrate = the material being printed i.e.. vinyl, leather, paper, wood). A release that works on leather, may not work as well on plastic. Part of selecting a foil therefore becomes matching the foil you buy to the product you're going to stamp.
